2Splatoon 2 is a team-based third-person shooter video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It is the sequel to the 2015 Wii U title, Splatoon, and is playable by up to eight players in online four-versus-four matches. The game was announced in January 2017, and released worldwide in July 2017.
Splatoon 2 takes place two years after the original Splatoon, and in that time, Inkling culture has changed significantly. To reflect this, several aspects of the game, from the music to the brands to the interface style, are stylized in a distinct new way.
The player takes the role of Agent 8, an Octoling with amnesia who finds themselves in a strange subway station connected to a series of research facilities deep underground. The Octo Expansion adds a new single-player campaign consisting of 80 levels. Off the Hook will support Agent 8 from above ground, and their help can be used to skip some missions that are very difficult.
