Splatoon 3: Causing mischief in Splat Zones [23(7)-8, Tri-slosher]
I'm hoping I'm being cautious to start, using my Toxic Mist, watching for ink and inklings, forgetting, apparently, that there is a second way to come to the Splat Zones, the one the Carbon Roller uses. One of the Carbon Rollers. Why don't I pay attention to these things? They have the potential to annoy me. But I head back, along the side route myself, where a Carbon Roller doesn't quite splat me, and I don't quite splat them. Instead, I take the opportunity to hop to the purple side of the Museum, where I start to cause some mischief. I fail to be displaced from below, but a couple of splats and the Carbon Rollers in front of me encourage a fall.
I'm soon back on the purple side, and causing more mischief, getting splats, making it difficult to reach the Splat Zones. Except by super-jumping, or going down the side, which is how the Splat Zones turn purple. I'm wise to this relatively soon, but perhaps not quite soon enough to win the battle early. Feeling outnumbered by the time I get there, I have to let the Splat Zones go. I still get more splats, and a couple of assists, before being splatted myself. Flush with splatty success, I get a little complacent, and am easily caught in the Splat Zones, but at least I put up a good fight with the purple interloper, who is not able to stick around for too long near our base.
A Dolphin confuses me as I head down the side, not seeing its rider jump off, but I am undeterred, and head back, where I get a couple of splats before challenging a Trizooker, which gets a nice angled shot off. We have another interloper, but I ignore them to focus on the Splat Zones. Sadly, the .52 Gal is doing that too. Our almost unassailable lead is looking more assailable by the second. I rush back, get a couple of decent splats, and help my squidmates turn the Splat Zones green, adding a handy buffer to the purple team's score.
I jump back to the other ledge, where I get a couple more splats, one with my back turned as I focus too hard on a super-jumper, but I get away with it, at least until I get the splat. That contributes to a timely Wipeout, with less than thirty seconds to go. That lets us hold the Splat Zones and ink a bit more, and keep the ink flowing as the clock runs down, awarding us the victory. Woomy!
