I like my Range Blaster in Mahi-Mahi, as the Splat Zones are overlooked by some ridges with cover, and the blaster is great at hitting around the edges. It also helps if the Squiffer pokes their nose out. I have to be more careful against the Heavy Splatling, as they clearly out-range me, but that doesn't stop me surging towards them like an idiot. It works this time, at least. With the Splat Zones captured, we press forwards and do well to prevent the orange team getting close, for a good while. Then I find myself almost alone, with the orange team returning, and a Trizooka aiming at me. I back off, the Splat Zones turning orange an unfortunate side-effect, and try to consolidate our turf. It kinda works, as my squidmates return, but I find myself cornered as Tenta Missiles fly in.

I rush back and towards the Squiffer's perch, where I neatly flank them, but probably not wisely, leaving my own flank wide open. A disappointing outing after a tidy first minute. My squidmates have the Splat Zones covered, though, and I come back to provide some support, getting a neat splat and keeping the ink flowing. The Squiffer is back, and I almost flush them out, instead they jump out with a charged shot, ready to hit me. Somehow, my reactions are better. But just moments before the battle is won early by knockout, the Splat Zones are threatened, and another Trizooka hits me in the face. So it goes.

I'm a little more cautious on my return than before, checking the turf below the ledge for inklings. Nothing's there, so I jump in, looking for splat, and finding it. I just didn't think it would be mine. I change direction, and catch the Squiffer nicely as they press forwards, and slink down the side for a better angle on the Splat Zones. A Bubbler keeps an inkling safe, which seems to confuse me. I manage to destroy it, but by moving closer, and just as it breaks I am close enough to be easily caught by the Flingza Roller. Not a great move by me.

I push forwards quickly again, running in to Tenta Missiles aimed at a squidmate as I try to get an angle on the Squiffer, which really wasn't worth it, and contribute to a Wipeout. We're pushed back now, the orange counter ticking down, and the Squiffer jumping out and splatting me properly this time. I could be a little more cautious, but we also need to neutralise the Splat Zones soon. I jump in, get a nice incidental splat as I know the Flingza Roller is in the area I aim for, but the Wave Breaker hitting me is unfortunate, and guides the Trizooka my way again.

We nearly captured the Splat Zones, but they are turned back orange, the other team's score getting too close to our own. Thankfully, I spot one inkling getting on to our perch and help splat them, and my squidmates do really well to splat the other inklings and bring the Splat Zones back under our colour. We have a better chance of winning now, helped by more forward pressure. I splat the Squiffer again, just before their Bubbler activates, which must be frustrating. Their Sprinkler continues inside the Bubbler, but my patience pays off, and then I get impetuous again, charging the Heavy Splatling ahead. I back off, thankfully, just as an inkling tries to leap the gap, getting hit by a reaction shot, and then it's all over. We win by knockout. Woomy!
