Episode Notes:

1. Splatterhouse captured on real hardware.

2. I used gameplay from both the US and Japanese versions throughout the video.

3. To access the hard mode, simply hold select on the title screen until the option appears.

4. This was released on numerous other platforms including the FM Towns, PC, and iOS.

5. There are some notable stage and boss differences between the Turbo version and the arcade. I encourage you to play both.

6. My daughter nearly beat the game the first time she played. She got to Jennifer before she started having significant trouble.

7. Two sequels were released for this on the Sega Genesis.

8. I always thought Namco should have given this series the Metroidvania treatment. An explorable mansion, upgradeable powers, and equipable items would have been killer in a 32-bit follow up.

9. All 3 16-bit games are unlockable in the 2010 Splatterhouse for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
