SpongeBob SquarePants - Monopoly Edition: Unlocking Secret Character (With Password)
37For years, I have occasionally been bugged by the secret code in this game. From doing a lot of searching online, I was never able to find a working password. Many claimed that you needed all 12 of the game's secret Bonus Cards and that the code was "SpongeStar", but this code would never enable the "OK" button and allow the character to be unlocked.
After finally learning enough to be able to do some sufficient datamining, I was able to open the file of the game responsible for handling the main menu. From there, I deobfuscated the menu scripts using BearKidTeam's VirtoolsScriptDeobfuscation plugin. After looking at the code prompt's logic, I finally found the password that the game tests for to unlock Lord Royal Highness. As far as I am aware, I am the first person to have properly unlocked the character and recorded doing so. This video will now serve as a public, definitive answer to the mystery! I hope that anyone who has ever been curious about this password will find this video and be able to unlock Lord Royal Highness, either for the sake of being able to play as him in-game or just to put a longstanding childhood mystery to rest.
The password is "1SBLRH" (Feels like a placeholder code honestly lol, I'd have preferred something more like SpongeStar)
It does not seem like you need to have a profile with all 12 Bonus Cards to unlock Lord Royal Highness, contrary to popular belief. I can't confirm this because my profile does have all cards, but it didn't look like there was anything checking for them.
Game files were decompiled with VirTools Dev Version 3.5.
