Spooktober '23 | Midgard & Slice 'N Hook (PC)
Since Vampire was so short and we were still on the Windows 98 machine, I decided to dig into my backup spooks. Okay so the first one isn't really spooky but it has skeletons and mind-boggling effects. Midgard is a 3D dungeon crawler made by Japanese developer Baroque. You can pick from 5 classes (though you can change at the pub) and you descend down a procedurally created dungeon fighting slimes, skeletons, and floating mouths. It controls very clunky with tank controls but I had a good time with it.
Then there's Slice 'N Hook. I didn't have a very good time with Slice 'N Hook. It's a pre-rendered spooky minigolf game with terrible camera angles and nonsensical aiming. The holes seemed to have lots of paths and dirty tricks. It gets some points for a cool skeleton on the main menu but that's the only good thing I can say about the game.
