Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!: Part 4: Learning to Swim, Idol Springs 100%, & Summer Forest Tour #2
After going through Colosuss, I made sure Spyro had more than enough Gems to pay Moneybags, so he can teach him to swim underwater.
It's actually very simple. Unlike other mascot characters, like Sonic and Crash, Spyro is actually a very good swimmer, and he can stay underwater for as long as he wants, as it should've been in the first game since he's a dragon and all.
This new skill is required to complete Idol Springs in one go, so I go there, next.
--------------
The Intro to Idol Springs has a bunch of green workers that look like the Monks from Colossus. They were craving wooden tiki idols that suddenly came to life, attacked them, and locked them out in different parts of the springs.
Spyro's main objective here to fight his way through the springs and turn all of the idol he comes by into firewood. Killing these idols will let the little workers get to the locked doors and break their locks.
Getting to the end will have one of the Foremen give you their Talisman: The Jade Idol.
--------------
There are two Orbs to find here I work on getting the first one at the same time I go for the Talisman:
1). If you've learned to swim underwater, go into the first pool at the start of this level to find a tunnel that will lead you to a Foreman named Bud. Foreman Bud will have you go through 3 puzzles before the treasure chest he's next to can be unlocked.
-- 1. First, you must light up all of the blocks in the room. Every block you step on will either light up for turn off, along with the two blocks adjacent to it. Find out how to get them all yellow.
-- 2. Next, you must feed the giant idol head at the same pool 10 of certain fish. Feed him any colored fish except for red ones, or he'll spit that out along with a few others.
-- 3. Finally, there are other blocks with two shapes on each of them. You must step on those blocks in a certain order to complete all of the puzzles and get the first Orb.
It takes me some time to do all of this so bare with me.
2). Far off from where you get the Jade Idol Talisman, you must save Hulagirl Stella from a tall female idol by bringing her 6 friends to her rescue. You'll do this by Supercharging through the idol heads her friends are standing on, but take too long between each of them, and the female idol will knock them back to those heads. If you manage to pull it off, they'll summon a lightning cloud to kill the idol, and Spyro will get another Orb.
--------------
I also get another Skill Point by landing on the tall idol head that the Hulagirls are near.
--------------
Back in Summer Forest dive in the water to get inside its castle. Zoe will meet you along the way to congratulate you on your progress so far.
Hunter can change the game camera between "Passive" and "Active", but you can change this yourself.
One place you can find Elora here is near a ladder, but Spyro still needs to learn how to climb those.
