SSFIVAE - Akuma's RH Loop Combo on Oni and Evil Ryu - Xbox 360
Not exactly a loop as seen in vanilla Street Fighter IV, but this video shows it's possible to connect Akuma's standing jab to his roundhouse kick on SSFIVAE newcomers Oni and Evil Ryu.
I couldn't have done this without watching Desk's videos and reading his analyses on his blog. Like what he said there, Akuma's RH Loop (as it's people put it) is harder to do in Super and Arcade Edition because the start-up frames of his roundhouse kick has been increased beginning SSFIV. To make his standing jab connect to his roundhouse kick, his standing jab must make a "meaty" hit. And to get a "meaty" jab hit, the LP button must be pressed (or tapped) as late as possible. Unfortunately, a "meaty" jab would only (or at least be easier to) come out using setups. Spacing is also a factor here and an important one, too.
Typically, RH is all the setup needed followed by a well-timed jab. But for some characters, like Oni, a number of normals (specials optional) must be linked together first.
In case you didn't catch the moves I used, here they are:
*ONI - j.HK, cr.LK, cr.LP, st.LP(f), st.HK(f), cr.MK xx FB xx FADC, st.HK(f), cr.MK xx FB xx FADC, st.HP(c), LK Tatsu, cr.HK
*EVIL RYU - st.HK(f), st.LP(f), st.HK(f), cr.MK xx FB xx FADC, st.HK(f), cr.MK xx FB xx FADC, cr.MP, LK Tatsu, HP SRK
KEY:
j. = jumping
cr. = crouching
st. = standing
(c) = close
(f) = far
xx = cancel
FADC = Focus Attack Dash Cancel
FB = fireball
Tatsu = Tatsumaki/Whirlwind/Tornado Kick
SRK = Shoryuken/Dragon Punch
The setup on Oni is pretty hard to execute, especially using the 360's standard controller.
