Utilizing the "magic" of socket.io
and the HTML5 Geolocation API, Matthew Connelly plots students' locations on a map that represents a floor plan of the Fullstack Campus. The initial day was spent gathering latitude and longitude data across the entire floor to ensure data accuracy. Matt draws footprints to a position on a HTML canvas that represents the user's coordinates which is accurate within a couple of meters. Socket connections allow users to see their own location on the floor as well as those of other users who are connected to the webpage.
