Stand Out VR Battle Royal (PUBG in VR!) - VR Gameplay HTC Vive
22Wow, population. It's there, and it's crazy. I was afraid there might not be enough of a population to sustain this game but I was pleasantly surprised. Each game appeared to have a large number of players even a month after release.
I think the auto start matches help a lot with population. No one has that start and wait anxiety. You just ready up and are thrown into the queue with whoever else is in line.
Graphically the game was a mess. Flat billboard textures for walls. Horrid character models. Trees in buildings. The weapons were decent but if you needs teh pretty graphics, this isn't your thing.
Now that those guys are out of the room... The gameplay was fun and I can definitely see it being addictive. Fast, frantic, easy to get in, easy to get out, very little down time and a loot carrot on a stick mechanic to chase.
The VOIP was decent which may or may not be a good thing for you. Circling back to the crazy players. Don't play this on speakers around your kids... In fact, don't play this with speakers period. no one wants to hear you echo every thing everyone says... That goes for all other VOIP titles. Yes, I'm talking to you.
I would say a little too much is up to discovery. For example the walking speed. It feels very random when you're forced to walk vs able to run. You end up figuring it out but it needn't be that painful.
Grabbing weapons out of other players hands was not very useful in the long run but pretty damn hilarious when it happened. Pretty sure it happened to the perfect player too. You were awesome nipples guy!
The price might be a little steep at $25. However if you like battle royal games and you've got a headset, this may be the game you've been waiting for as long as you can excuse the graphics. They're pretty bad...
