This is a 1996 FMV rail shooter, where you play a rookie Rebel Alliance recruit. The Empire are up to their old tricks, developing a new weapons technology that will help them crush the rebels. It’s your job to stop them. It’s kind of like a playable Star Wars movie, and parts of it are actually very difficult.
I’ve had this on disc for years but it doesn’t work on a PS3 (or a PS2 slim) and I was never able to play it. I’ve always wanted to check it out, so I decided to just play it on RetroArch for this video.
This playthrough is semi-blind. The game has lives and continues but it also saves between each chapter. If you get a game over, your score resets, but you can still carry on from the last saved chapter. For that reason, the displayed score and lives won’t be consistent in this playthrough, as I’m only showing the first time I was able to beat each chapter or section, there will have probably been game overs and failed attempts in-between.
