Star Wars Testmod | Project Quantum Leap: Blow Up | No Failure Run
6I've been trying to add to SWTestmod's presentation the past few weeks. New main menu background, something to fill in the HUD, replacing default sounds to JK/DF's, changing the French VA lines to English, purple HEV instead of orange, etc. It's been a slow trudge, imperfect (the HUD's not exactly the most spiffiest), and I'm not even close to being finished yet. But, figured I'd show what's already done in this particular run for the moment.
Blow Up in PQL's a bit of a lengthy section, mainly 'cause it's split into two maps instead of standing alone. Was definitely cutting it a bit close by the end, only having like 9 gigs of space left after spending 70 of them for the whole run. There's some hiccups that I've only noticed in the edit, like regular hgrunts showing up instead of stormtroopers, but I think I got that one mended in the release below. Kinda glad that I still got the reskins from SW Missions to keep to the theme, but I could've easily ended up with HL1 weapons on top of the SW ones. The Xenian presence is deliberate, though.
I suppose that'll be the target for changes next. Since the old HL1 entities are still there, changing their theming to fit the SW world might allow me to be a bit more flexible in terms of what I can add or remove. I can't replace barneys or apaches and ospreys, so inevitably I'll have to actually rig something up to replace the 9mm weapons to something that'll fit with SW. Suppose I could try to nick stuff like the heavy repeater from Jedi Knight 2 onwards, but the visual dissonance might be annoying to see. We'll see.
