StarCraft Ghost Modding?! Driving Vehicles!
Modding a game that wasn't even officially released? That's more likely than you think! After 5 years of nobody really having a go at it, I decided to try my luck - the game did not disappoint! It's a treasure of unseen/unused content, giving us a glimpse of Nihilistic Software's vision for StarCraft Ghost!
After a lot of work on the game's level format I was able to reach a point where I could add objects to the levels! Currently my project is not a level editor but more of a converter between the level format and a human-readable structured format (JSON).
There are even more unused objects remaining in this build! If you remember my previous video where I showed various SC:Ghost models, every one of those models is likely an object with some degree of programmed behavior (or just decoration)
This is being played on a modified version of Cxbx Reloaded where I fixed the issue of the ingame sound not working. If you are running an official build of the emulator, any build after and including 26th Oct. 2020 has the issue of the sound not playing. If there is interest, I might upload my build sometime.
