Starfield vs Far Cry 6 vs Dying Light 2 | Graphics & Performance comparison (side by side 4k)
I keep hearing it a lot lately, that "you have bad pc" when i say Starfield is BADLY optimized and coded, because it runs like a donkey. So here's graphics and performance comparison between Starfield vs FarCry6 vs Dying Light 2, they all have similar graphics, so let's see how "bad" my PC is (not).
Settings & Mods:
// STARFIELD //
Resolution = 2560x1440
Upscaling = 50% = 1280x720 (render res)
DirectX 12
- 1/4 (quarter) texture mod
- tweaks to further lower shadows and graphics to improve fps
- exclusive fullscreen not supported
= extreme pixelation, fuzzyness due 720 render res and constant stuttering when switching weapons or moving too fast.
- FORCED to have win10 22h2 or win11.
// FAR CRY 6 //
Resolution = 3840x2160
Upscaling = Performance (50% = 1920x1080 render res)
DirectX 12
+ no additional mods
- exclusive fullscreen is buggy
= everything looks crisp and crystal clear on 4k 28'' monitor, no noticeable pixelation. solid 60fps, no stuttering.
// DYING LIGHT 2 //
Resolution = 2560x1440
Upscaling = Linear, Balanced (59% = 1510x850 render res)
DirectX 12
+ no addtional mods
+ exclusive fullscreen is fully supported
= hardly noticeable pixelation, everything looks natural. solid 60fps, no stuttering.
// NOTES //
* DL2 and FC6 are insatlled on 5400rpm HDD, both takes about 1-3 minutes to load at start (depending on where i saved the game), but after that no further stuttering or loading issues, i can fly from one end of the map to other without any stuttering or loading.
* FC6 and DL2 have never crashed and i have 100+ hours in both for sure.
* Starfield is installed on SSD and i get constant stuttering. it freezes for 1-2 seconds when switching weapons, freezes for 2-4 seconds when moving/flying fast. constant random crashes. SF also forces you to have win10 22h2 or win11, which is NOT needed. anyone who understands computers, knows that windows has NOTHING to do with running games. as long as your OS (operating system) supports DirectX12, you can run the game, bethesda (starfield devs) have purposly blocked out older version of windows just to annoy people. there is no actual need to have 22h2 or win11.
* Why is starfield FPS so "dodgy"? cuz the id!otic tools didn't let me put FPS in top-middle and mirillis action (which i used for DL2) crashes with Starfield (it's THAT bad). so i had to cut the FPS counter from top-right corner and put in middle, since i cut the video left and right off and only showing center due the 3-way split. but FPS counter is synced and accurate.
* FC6 doesn't have FPS counter because i just forgot, it's solid 60fps just like in DL2 anyways, so not much point including it.
