Starward Rogue is more like Binding of Isaac than any other game I've played in recent history. There are games like Rampage Knights and Rogue Legacy that are great roguelikes and roguelites, but this has a lot of the same elements as BoI.

However, I'd say the biggest difference, other than a huge theme change, is how much more focus is put towards the bullet hell aspect of these types of games. There are dozens of different types of bullets. Some bullets even shoot bullets themselves.
