Fullmetal Alcehmist: Brotherhood - Fullmetal Alchemist? Blech... Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood? OH YEEEAAH
Fairy Tail - Pretty much everything makes Dragonball Z good and made even better with much more unique characters and a world with greater depth. The fact that the filler is as good as normal episodes makes it worth watching!
Black Jack (reboot) - I really hope this gets an english dub soon...
Samurai Pizza Cats - a rare and amazing example of the english dub being almost universally considered better than the original one
Bomberman Jetters - starts out strong but peters out halfway, if you want to watch a good Bomberman anime I recommend looking at Bomberman B-Daman instead
Trigun - all around amazing and is one of my all-time favorite animas..., but the last few episodes were really anticlimactic and unsatisfying
Dragon Ball Z - easily the first thing that pops into my mind when I hear "overrated". A mary sue protagonist and disgustingly drawn-out battles has made this anime age horribly, all that said however the rest of the cast and the new episodes improving on the faults of its predecessors has redeemed this one in my eyes.
Pokemon Kanto arc - The pokemon anime today is excellent, but back then it was really awkward and could only be really enjoyed if you liked the games. It wasn't until the Ruby and Sapphire arcs that the anime hit its stride, and X and Y is the only one I can really recommend to people who have never played the games. Also, I hate Misty with a burning passion
Neon Genesis Evangelion - How did this one become a classic?! Its just boring and bland from start to finish and has one of the worst endings in anime history
Eiken - Think animes of today are shamelessly fanservicey? Oh ho... You have seen nothing... Eiken is a complete disgrace
Ranma 1/2 - the most unlikable cast of characters ever and lackluster action scenes make this one of the most painful animes ever
