So the performance is equally as terrible as it was when it originally released on Windows.

Just like FF13 did, 13-2's most pressing issue is that it suffers from random extreme FPS drops of 10 - 15 FPS. There's no setting in the game to turn off Vsync or on, and the Steam OS setting doesn't do anything. When this game came out it was the same issue - the only way to force 60 fps was with third party tools like GeDoSaTo made for Dark Souls and FF13.

The splash launcher is nearly impossible to navigate with the touchpads and requires either using the touchscreen itself or an external mouse.

Testing in Desktop mode through Proton 7.0-4, the game runs at its worst - frequently dropping to single digit FPS and freezing, though this happens in Game Mode without Proton as well.

Even with Gamepad enabled, the game currently shows Keyboard labels by default. This must be manually changed in the settings.
