The majority of Steam Deck users, including many prominent YouTubers, apparently find the trackpads to be useless for most games. Unfortunately, Valve seems to be repeating the same mistakes with the Steam Controller: terrible lowest-common-denominator defaults, lack of any in-depth tutorials, zero visual feedback, poor user experience for discovering and tweaking settings, etc.
Here is my attempt to rectify that, showing you how you can make trackpad control feel good, and in fact, potentially way BETTER than conventional stick controls in the popular genre of action shooters, both 2D and 3D (first-person, third-person, twin-stick, etc.)
