You should probably back up your old Steam games.

I did, it felt *good*

List of games I tried with SSE 1.4.7 -

Sin Episodes Emergence, and Dark Messiah.
(extract files for both games into their respective folders with GCFScape, then get rid of the vpks. Or find out how to mount their vpks correctly in their gameinfo.txts)

Black Mesa

Counter-Strike: Source (+ a metric ton of custom maps)
Borderlands GOTY (Vanilla, not enhanced)
RAGE (+ID5 tweaker)
It is worth noting for RAGE, that your save profile and/or save games can randomly corrupt, so make sure to back them up regularly.

Dead Rising
Half-Life 1 Legacy, 25th anniversary build, Opposing Force anniversary build, Counter-Strike 1.6, Mods: Natural Selection, and Master Sword Continued)
Killing Floor
Kingdoms of Amalur
Metal Gear Rising
Payday The Heist
Poker Night at the Inventory, and Poker Night 2
On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness 1-4
Magicka (Boot up once normally with Steam, make web page prompt
go away, then it's probably fine to back up after that)

Condemned Criminal Origins
McPixel (No Steam DRM)
Fez (No Steam DRM)
Lone Survivor
Chantelise
Binary Domain
Super Indie Karts
Delver
Words for Evil
Pac-Man Championship Edition DX
Blue Estate
The Darkness II
Prototype 1 and 2 (get the PCGW fixes or they'll crash)
Alpha Protocol (it's only on GoG these days, btw)
DmC 2013 and Devil May Cry 4
The Last Remnant (Looks like Final Fantasy XII but its not)
I Am Alive
Sudeki
Wasted
X-Blades (No Steam DRM)
Zeno Clash 2
Zoombinis (No Steam DRM)
One Finger Death Punch
Dead Pixels
LISA The Painful
Breath of Death VII
Cthulhu Saves the World

Left 4 Dead 2 (IMPORTANT - DISABLE OVERLAY IN THE EMU. Right click on game - Properties - Extra - Enable Overlay: False. Having overlay on will crash this and some other games.) ALSO make sure to move any dled workshop addons out of the workshop folder, and into the base addons folder, because L4D2 will think you're subscribed to no workshop items, and delete all dled WS addons as a result. You should probably just get your addons from GameMaps.

Alien Swarm (DISABLE OVERLAY IN EMU)
Also Reactive Drop content MOSTLY works with vanilla AS. Just move/copy the reactivedrop folder from AS Reactive Drop, and mount it in vanilla AS's gameinfo.txt. Put "Game" "reactivedrop" under everything else. P.S. - bots are dumb. Adding bots - enter this in console
bind "p" "cl_selectm 2 2; cl_selectm 5 3; cl_selectm 7 4"
Then press P in the lobby after creating a game, and after selecting a character yourself.

Here are games I tried that DIDN'T work

Mass Effect 1 and 2
Dead Rising 2 OTR
Resident Evil 5
Zeno Clash 1
Cry of Fear Steam
Left 4 Dead (probably disable overlay in emu)
Alien Swarm Reactive Drop
Serious Sam HD First and Second Encounter
Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Randy Edition
Strider

Here's SSE 1.4.7 (with redists) if you can't be arsed to make an account to dl it (I can't blame you)

SSE / Steam Game Backup directions -

Boot up Steam, DL whatever games you think will work with the emu (and make sure to look in steamapps/common/Steamworks Shared folder, clear it out beforehand so you don't get confused. Some games will download redists separately to this folder, which are needed to run. Back these redists up, too. Some games have redists directly in their own folder)

After the game is dled, move your game folder away from steamapps/common, drag it literally anywhere else, like to a Desktop/Games folder, (don't forget them redists if any were dled).

EXIT OUT OF STEAM, copy the Steam emu to the game's folder (preferably in the folder with the game's executable. Don't forget to get the redists that the emu needs to run) Then set up the emu with that game (drag game's executable over to the SSE launcher window, or just do File - Add Game. Set up the app id and whatnot (You can get the app id from the game's Steam page or PCGamingWiki, it's the number in the game's Steam page URL. And then finally, cross your fingers, hope it works, and launch it via the SSE launcher.

Make sure ACTUAL STEAM is not running when using the emu, or weird stuff might happen.
