Steelrising gameplay Steam Deck OLED performance test [Docked]
0There are a lot of videos on YT with various games tested on Steam Deck. Most of them present the footage of the screen and how the game looks ON Steam Deck. Some people, however, use their Steam Deck as a desktop PC or a regular console. My tests intend to show how the game looks and performs on an external screen, in full HD (not in 4k for performance reasons) with certain scaling options.
Steelrising is a soulslike game set in Paris (and its outskirts) in the 18th century... but with a steampunk twist. You play as Aegis, a mechanical maid on her mission to stop the tyrranical king. Can I say anything more about this game apart from that it's a soulslike? Well, you play as an automaton and it surely feels like it. Aegis is very stiff, her animations look as if they lacked some frames on purpose, to add a little bit of robotic jank to her motions. Apart from that, it is your standard soulslike. The combat and the bosses feel very basic at the beginning of the game but maybe there is new stuff as you progress through the story. If you liked the vibe of Lies of P, here is an alternative for you.
NOTE: Bear in mind that this is recorded in the docked mode, meaning the performance might always be a bit lower than in the regular handheld mode due to the scaling, etc.
NOTE 2: The game was launched in "Default" resolution, meaning the Steam Deck upscaled its default resolution to Full HD (which is the resolution I set for the docked mode).
