In this video I cover a method of downloading and installing games from the Epic Game Store without using the official client on Windows 11.

The Heroic Game Launcher is an open-source GUI game launcher for Linux, Windows and Mac OS, that uses the Legendary command line interface tool to connect and download games directly from the Epic servers.

Step 1. Installation.

Download and install the latest release of Heroic Game Launcher from the releases page, and once installed launch.

Step 2. Launching & Signing Into Your Epic Account.

On first launch, you will be prompted to sign into your Epic account and provide a SID number, simply follow the instructions, and paste the SID number as requested.

Step 3. Navigating the Interface.

On the library tab, click on the game you want to install, select an installation location, and then click the Install button to begin the process.

Once a game is installed, click on the Play button to launch it.

The Settings tab will allow you set defaults for the application such as default installation locations for the games, as well other things such as theming.

Finally the Store and Wiki tabs brings up the Epic Games Store website and project’s GitHub page respectively.
