To turn off or mute the microphone in Windows 11/10, follow these steps:
Click on the Windows start button and select the "Settings" app.
In the Settings app, click on the "Privacy" category.
On the left-hand side, click on "Microphone."
On the right-hand side, under the "Microphone access for this device" section, toggle the switch to "Off."
You can also choose to allow apps to access your microphone by selecting the "Allow apps to access your microphone" toggle switch to "On." To turn off access for a specific app, toggle the switch for that app to "Off."
If you want to mute your microphone for a specific app, you can do so from within the app itself. Most applications have an option to mute or turn off the microphone in their settings or preferences.
If you want to mute the microphone system-wide, you can use the audio mixer to do so. Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Open Volume Mixer." Then, adjust the volume slider for your microphone to the lowest setting.
These steps should help you turn off or mute your microphone in Windows 11/10.
