Steven, a member of the Pathetic Triathletes Facebook Group, posted a video and asked for comments to help him out. I obliged and here is his stroke technique review video!

Things I liked:
1. Great body position. Low amounts of drag working against you.
2. Relaxed body form. Most motions are fluid and consistent.
3. Good breathing. Nice relaxed head, good body rotation to your side, no cross-body recovery or pulling.

Items to work on:
1. Kick with straight legs. Gives you more power and limits the amplitude of the kick which reduces overall drag.
2. Eliminate dead spots in your stroke, specifically when your right hand finishes the pull phase of the stroke. This will increase your overall stroke rate and help increase your overall speed.
3. Pull with stiffer arms. Liken your arms to a kayak paddle. If the paddle is not stiff, you will not pull water backwards well. Stiffer arms will pull more water and increase your overall speed.

About me:
I am the "Officailly unofficial" stroke technique coach for Team Zoot. Been doing private stroke technique coaching for over 5 years and have a personal swim career of over 15 years. I was a High School All American and swam for BYU for four years specializing in backstroke and distance freestyle. Currently, I am a saturday warrior triathlete working my way to a better bike and run leg.
