STOP Making WEIRD Stuff of my CHARACTER!
Drawings aren't real, and characters aren't real, but there can be a certain dilemma for artists.
"This stuff has become really common in fandom spaces, and it's really annoying." Okay, what is so common?
The creator of the character said, "Hey, please don't make weird stuff of my character. It makes me uncomfortable." It does sound like a reasonable request, but the problem is this request is about as effective as going on the internet and saying, "Please be nice to me. I don't like mean people."
I mean, yeah. Generally, people should try to be nice to others and their creations online. Generally, people should respect the wishes of others, but this is the internet. People are going to do whatever they like to you and your creations online. I'm not saying that it's right but telling people online to be nice to you so that you don't feel uncomfortable is an amazing invitation for people to not be nice to you and make you feel uncomfortable.
There is one way for you to stop people from doing uncomfortable things to your original characters, and that is to register your character as an intellectual property and DMCA anyone that tries to make anything out of it. The problem with this method is you solved the "People not being able to do whatever they want with your original character" problem, but you also introduced a new problem, and that is, "People realizing that you're a copyright striker." That just gets you more hate on your part, and that will make you uncomfortable.
"Actually, no! I'm going to disrespect your boundaries and do what I'd like. You're just being a killjoy." Unfortunately, yes. That's just the reality of the internet, and if you want to be even more of a killjoy, copyright striking people that draw your art is one way for you to go.
Personally, I would respect your wishes because I don't see the need to be mean online. I got stuff to do in real life, but not everyone on the internet will give you the same courtesy. When your creations are out on the internet, it's open season for anyone to do whatever they like. See the Sonic fandom, or any fandom for that matter.
