1Final Part: Control Room
The cat and B-12 arrive by train in a bright wide area populated by Helpers abandoned by dead Humans. They look exactly like Companions, but they have no consciousness. In the Control Room Area, the cat finds a door to the Outside, which has been closed for many years. It can only be opened from the Control Room itself, the doors there are closed with a security protocol, and only Humans can go there. Cat and B-12 together open the door there.
Entering the Control Room, B-12 gets his last memory: all the systems of the city were controlled from the Control Room, but when the plague epidemic came to the City, the workers of the Control Room could not help Humans in any way, and they died out.
B-12 starts hacking the mainframe, and the cat helps him with this and turns on the computers. They are working together to not only open the Exit, but also open the roof of the city. The cat scratches the wires inside the machines to gain access to the roof workstation and let B-12 hack these machines, but he starts to overheat and warns that he will need to recharge. After hacking all three machines, the B-12 falls to the ground, and the cat carries his broken body to the workstation.
B-12 warns the cat that disabling the city protection protocol will require too much power, so his software may be destroyed in the process. He takes the backpack off the cat and says goodbye to him, calling him the best friend he could have asked for. B-12 infiltrates the system, disabling the security protocol, and his body falls to the ground. The cat rubs against his dead friend and curls up next to him.
(Players speculate that just like B-12 came from the network, he may have uploaded his "consciousness" to the Walled City network here.)
At this time, the roof of the City, the view of which opens from the windows of the Control Room, begins to slowly open. Sunlight falls on Zurks in a Lower Level and destroys them, residents of the Slums stare at the blue sky in surprise, and Sentinels chasing Clementine fall to the ground, disconnected from the pandemic security protocol they followed.
The cat wakes up while the roof of the city opens completely. He heads for the Exit, where the door to the Outside opens in front of him. He climbs the stairs and stops outside, breaths in the fresh air, looks at the player, blinking slowly, and then goes to look for his Family while the panel on the wall of the exit from the City lights up.
