I continue my journey through 8-bit Sonic with the next two traditional platformers on the Master System & Game Gear.

First is Sonic Chaos, Aspect's follow-up to their Sonic 2. This time Tails is fully playable and there are a few touches perhaps borrowed from Sonic CD as well as its own quirks and additions. I played the Master System version as Tails, getting quickly through the campaign before briefly checking out the differences when playing as Sonic on the Game Gear version. It's fairly easy but a nice little instalment.

Then I played Triple Trouble, again selecting Tails. This one is larger in scope, and integrates not only Knuckles (and a Metal Sonic boss fight) but also debuts fan favourite Fang who has some lovely sprite animations. As always I didn't get all the Chaos Emeralds but I at least managed to show off an example of both types of special stage and a Fang boss fight.
