Strife was a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game developed by S2 Games, not to be confused with Strife (1996 first-person shooter video game). This is S2 Games' second MOBA game aimed to a more casual player base than Heroes of Newerth, most notably incorporating various gameplay elements that focus on heavily reducing player toxicity and introducing persistent mechanics outside of the arena, including Pets and Crafting. The game uses an engine called Kodiak which is based on the Heroes of Newerth (K2 Engine) with some improvements on lighting and physics.

As of October 2018 Strife servers have been shut down without comment from developers with S2 Games being quietly closed down. Players continued to play Strife with Strife Community Edition but it's shut down too, as of 17ᵗʰ May 2021. They said "Strife Community Edition server expenses didn't get covered for the last 12 months so [the dev] had to pay most of them by [his] own. Decided to shut them finally down. The Service will stay available until 17th of may."

However you can play offline vs. bots. Here's how to do it
- Download the game files from Steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/339280/Strife/
- Use Strife Botgame Launcher by Neo1171 here http://1171.net/Strife-Launcher.rar, mirror link https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/368448015943335940/934786095122632824/Strife-Launcher.rar
- or follow this guide https://www.reddit.com/r/strife/comments/9qn426/how_to_play_offline_vs_bots/

I played it back in the day when it first launched. It was fine but wasn't interested in choosing it over League of Legends. Overall design was cartoony compared to other MOBAs and I love it.
