Stripe fires 14% of its workforce
0Approximately 1,120 of Stripe's 8,000 employees will be laid off, representing 14% of the company's workforce. "We overhired for the world we're in, and it pains us to be unable to give the experience that we hoped that those impacted would have at Stripe," said CEO Patrick Collison. This comes after a similar wave of layoffs at TaxJar, a firm it bought last year that specialised on tax compliance. According to reports, Stripe's internal valuation has decreased 28% from $95 billion last year to about $74 billion.
