Strit Plays On Linux #10: The Elder Scrolls Online (beta)
Strit Plays On Linux is a series of videos, where I play different games. It's a Let's Play series of native linux games, aswell as games running through Wine. Be aware that I am not a native english speaker, so my english is not that great. I'm not used to speaking in videos either.
Today's Game:
Title: The Elder Scrolls Online Beta
Developer: Bethesda Studios
Price: Unknown, but will probably be a $15/month subscription.
Linux Native: No. Played through Wine.
Special Guest: None.
Notes: Much better sound this time. To get TESO working in Wine, you need the following.
1: A virtual machine with Windows to run the launcher to update and install the game.
2: Install the game launcher using a clean prefix (this works without a problem)
3: Use the virtual machine to update launcher and game files.
4: Edit the file in ~/Elder Scrolls Online/live/UserSettings.txt. Place "SET GraphicsDriver.7 "OPENGL"" instead of the DirectX line it has now.
5: Run the eso.exe file in the /game folder, within your prefix and you are good to go.
