The important characteristics which should be possessed by a respiratory surafce are
Permeability
Moisture
Thin surafce
Large surafce area
Good blood supply
Good ventilation mechanism
The lecture also includes pneumocytes type I
Pneumocytes type II , alveolar cells, functions of pneumocytes, squamous epithelium etc which are very important concepts for understanding the properties of respiratory surafce.
