Successfully Emulating PlayStation 3 On Older PCs Is Possible (4th Gen i7)(Windows)(Linux)
17#RPCS3 #PS3 #Emulator running various games full speed on Windows 10 64-bit on a 5 year old PC.
The PC Used:
CPU: i7 4790 @ stock speeds
GPU: GTX 1060
RAM: 1600Mhz 16Gb
I recorded the footage with OBS capturing in 1920x1080p 60fps on the same computer while at the same time running RPCS3. There's a little headroom 15-20% left. The emulator-overlay is enabled for stats and a sense of the speed and load on both host PC as the virtual PS3 system.
I've also tried the emulator on an AMD FX8350 with an RX560 GPU, some games run quite well. But the IPC of the '8'-core system is quite a fair bit lower than the 4th gen Intel system resulting in the i7 to be quite a fair bit more capable.
