PREVIOUSLY:
After making it through the maze-like structure filled with contraptions that is the Vault, Tir and his party defeats the vault guardian and obtains the Running Water Root. They make their way back to the Village of the Dwarves, showing the treasure to the dwarven chief, gaining his trust in the process.
With the dwarven chief promising to build the Firewind Cannon to counter the Burning Mirror, the party decides to return to the elves village to deliver the good news, but they were too late. As they arrive, the entire tree had been burnt down by the imperial forces' new weapon. Losing hope, Kirkis despairs, and wonders if all their efforts were all for naught, but Gremio encourages him to continue fighting, not only for themselves, but for the people who had suffered at the hands of the imperials.
They party decides to return to the castle to regroup. Upon reaching Kobold village however, they get ambushed by imperial soldiers, but were saved by reinforcements sent by Mathiu, called upon by Sylvina and Stallion, whom managed to survive the attack.
As Tir and his team were on their mission, Flik and Humphrey managed to assemble the old Liberation Army troops, enabling them to counter the general's numbers.
