With the news of Teo McDohl's defeat spreading throughout the lands, the Imperials has gotten their hands full, with insurgencies breaking out everywhere. Lepant suggests that this would be the perfect time to unite all the rebel factions to further increase their numbers, and their first task would be to attack the rural region of Lorimar since imperials have been seen pulling out from the area.
Tir's party arrives at the fortress of Lorimar, but were surprised as not only was no one inside the stronghold, but there were a large number of graves present. Only when they reach Warriors' Village did they learn the cause of the strange occurrences. According to village chief Zorak, it was three months ago that a man named Neclord led the local imperial soldiers to the region. The man used his magic powers and turned his soldiers into zombies and skeletons, explaining why there were so many graves in the fortress of Lorimar.
Neclord threatened the local villages with his mutated soldiers, demanding women to be delivered to his castle. Though other villages complied, Zorak refused to give in to his demands, carrying the pride of being a citizen of Warriors' Village. He tells a story about the village's previous chiefs, a story so long the sun had already set as he finishes.
Before they retire, Viktor reveals about his past involving Neclord. Neclord misused a rune that turned him into a vampire, and was the one responsible for the death of Viktor's family and his village's downfall. That marked the beginning of Viktor's search for Neclord as he attempts to exact revenge and end the vampire's reign of terror.
On the next day, Neclord arrives at the village entrance along with his zombie soldiers, demanding
the chief's daughter Tengaar to become his 70th bride. Viktor and his allies tried fending him off, but their weapons wasn't working against the vampire overlord. Tengaar finally surrenders herself to Neclord in exchange for the others safety, while Hix vows to rescue her as soon as possible.
After Tir gains consciousness, the party inquires Zorak if there was any special weapon that could be used to counter Neclord's rune. Though the village chief has no idea if any such weapon exists, he suggests the party to visit the temple of Qlon to search for answers there.
