Ed Logg-created sequel to the classic progenitor of the ball-and-paddle genre. Here, you can choose from 3 different gameplay variations: Double, in which you control 2 paddles at once (stacked) to bounce 2 balls at once at the bricks (and keeping both balls aloft doubles the brick score); Cavity, in which you must free 2 extra balls from their brick prison so you can bounce a total of 3 at once; and Progressive, in which the screen of bricks descends upon you. Oddly enough, the main Super Breakout rom in MAME only has Progressive as a playable version-- there's no emulated switch to move between the versions. So you need to get the cocktail rom version of Super Breakout to choose the other two. I think inserting a credit during the first attract mode allowed you to play Cavity and waiting for the second attract mode allowed you to start in Doubles. At any rate, sorry I'm not better at ball-and-paddle games.. this is a good sequel and appears on many Atari Classic-type collections. Designed by Ed Logg.
