Have you ever wondered what Donkey Kong Country would have been like if it was on the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive) instead of the Super Nintendo? Well wonder no more, because here we have someone's attempt to make that a reality! At first glance, it actually seems to work rather well. The graphics are lacking a bit and the music isn't too great although most of the main Donkey Kong Country elements are there and they work pretty well. Unfortunately things take a bad turn when it comes to things like bad hit detection and cheap enemy placement, this isn't really noticeable in the first world although it gets pretty annoying later on. Overall, I'm glad that I tried this pirate out and made a Random Game of the Day about it, although next time I feel like playing a Donkey Kong Country game I'll likely play the official game instead. :P

Also as a fun fact; Donkey Kong Country was known as Super Donkey Kong in Japan, thus why it is called Super Donkey Kong 99 and not Donkey Kong Country 99.
