You CAN'T open doors when you playing as a character.
Just in this video when the note is blank it means it only in the in front garden castle. With some chapters it works any were!

Only works in Big Boo's Haunt-5. If you just turn it on in the level, you'll be a normal-sized Boo. To play as Big Boo, turn on the code before you start your file and then turn it off. When you start your file, you'll be big. Then go to the level and turn it on again, and you'll be playing Big Boo. Or you could use turn it on before you start the file, then use level select to go straight to the level.
