Another Super Mario game is here, and we have the American Super Mario Bros 2, made in 1988. This game is actually a reskin of the FDS Doki Doki Panic (I intended that game, but it felt so incomplete, with this being fully polished), due to the result of the Lost Levels being deemed too difficult for international releases. However, this is actually the true sequel because DDP was originally planned to be a Mario game. Interestingly, this is the first game Luigi had his trademark appearance and Peach being playable, which was really cool at the time. No Bowser here. The villain is the big king frog named Wart. He does later reappear in Zelda Link's Awakening as a good guy.

I prefer the SNES remaster in All-Stars due to much better sound and a few bug fixes, but the NES original is still fun. This Mario game is not one I intended to play in full, because this is my least favorite of the '80s bunch, being the black sheep, so I used hidden warps to skip mostly ahead. Plus, it's a little hard to control throws on a keyboard. Cheats are also used for laughs.
