DESCRIPTION ▼
A recent video game auction has set a new world record - with a sealed copy of Super Mario Bros. 3 selling for an incredible $150k USD. This eclipses the previous record Big Week in Gaming covered way back back in Episode 1, which was a sealed copy of Super Mario Bros. 1 for $114k USD. Sold via Heritage Auctions, the Mario 3 box is a rare variant that has the word 'Bros.' formatted on the left side, which has led to the increased value (among other reasons). In the same auction, a sealed copy of Pokemon Red was also sold for $84k USD.
