Square Enix dropped a surprise sequel announcement for the cult classic The World Ends With You - called NEO: The World Ends With You, coming to PS4 and Switch in Summer 2021. The original released in April 2008 for the Nintendo DS and has since seen updated ports for mobile and Switch. Gameplay is now in 3D, but retains the renowned stylised visuals. Once again, the game is focused on the 'Reaper's Game' against the background of Shibuya, Tokyo. An anime adaptation is also planned for April 2021.
