New Covers, let's go!

Welcome to 2023 covers! Figured I'd start this year off with one I've been meaning to do for like a year and a half. I started to realise how amazing this song really was recently and decided I really wanted to cover it. It's so bluesy and I think that's really neat! Plus it has some cool bridges and a really good intro. Experimenting with the arrangement was really fun with this one, that's for sure.

Also, that opening drum fill? I ripped it straight out of Periphery's Wildfire which they released in January. I wanted to start with a drum fill, but not a single fill I wrote worked, or at least I thought they didn't so I just ripped what Matt did. Sorry guys, the fill was just really cool haha. I suppose if it wasn't clear before this point, I love Periphery a lot. Which is funny because I'm ripping off a band that in turn rips off Meshuggah, so by the transitive property, I'm ripping off Meshuggah.

I had a lot of fun with this though. It was really interesting to experiment with how I played some things and especially the solo. Now this is why specifically I'm doing this relaxed and unscheduled uploading; I can pour enough time to make things good! I hope you enjoy!
