Last week's joke and wordplay was terrible. I'm okay being cancelled for it...
When I made my first cover of Hopes and Dreams back in 2020, I hadn't finished UNDERTALE yet. I didn't know it was the first phase of the Pacifist final boss, and had no idea the implications it had. As a result of that, I felt I kind of missed the mood, and that ruined it. This is why I typically play games before I cover music now... or at least did. But now that I know the context, and it's been almost two years since I finished UNDERTALE Pacifist, I think it's time I revisit this song and make the version of it I always wanted.
I basically played the whole song. Not a cut, not a section removed, I played it exactly the way I wanted it to be done, and I didn't really change any arrangement things... except for starting and ending it like I did with the His Theme and Hopes and Dreams sections of my UNDERTALE medley. I changed up the ending to include the few changes I'd made, added His Theme at the beginning and end, and hell I think it worked out. I'll always love this song, so it's a treat to get to do it again.
Also I've been sick as fuck for the last week. Turns out your resident me got COVID! How fun! I got sick around the 24th of November, so I'm definitely well past it, but I still have a cough and am a bit fatigued, so I had to do this 2016-FamilyJules style. And to be honest, I actually really like how this turned out. It's very different even from my Breakout cover and yet I'm still into it! Maybe I'll utilise this style more in the future! Let me know what you guys think!
