Super Mario Land 2 DX: Part 38: Mario's Castle (Wario Final Boss & Ending)
9Once you help Mario (& Luigi in this hack) gather all 6 Golden Coins, you can then finally confront Wario at the castle in the middle of the map that he stole from Mario!
Bowser does not exist in this game, but Wario seems to remodel Mario's castle after something Bowser would've had. It's full of deadly hazards and traps!
In the final rooms before Wario, you will be faced against... faces! Floating Faces that look like Wario. Beat each of them to continue on until you finally reach the real deal.

Wario will be there, sitting on a throne while picking his nose. He spots Mario and ATTACKS!
This is divided into 3 phases, and Wario has to be hit three times in each of them:
- In the first phase, Wario will try to tackle against Mario run him over. He will also sometimes Ground Pound, causing a disco ball from above to drop and hit Mario if he's not careful.
- In the second phase, Wario retreats into a different room and somehow gets a Carrot, turning himself into Bunny Wario. He will use his new extra ears to hover over Mario and Ground Pound right on top of him. Even if he misses, this still risks dropping a disco ball on Mario if it's above him.
- In the third and final phase, Wario then retreats again and then resorts to using a Fire Flower to finish off Mario as Fire Wario. Don't worry about anymore Ground Pounds, but jump over his fireballs and go finish him off.

Wario had suffered too many bops to the head, that it caused him to shrink back down to Small Wario. All he could do left was cry, as his plans of owning a stolen castle has now failed.
In a final spiteful action, Wario tossed one of his shoes at Mario and ran off. Mario was able to chase him right out of the castle as his evil spell upon it finally wore off, changing it back to Mario's Castle and finally restoring all of Mario Land back to normal.
It seemed that Wario was done fighting Mario from there, but who knows? This may have motivated him to take on some new adventures of his own...

Sadly, I know how I got this hack running in Spanish, though the credits are the only time you'll actually get to see this.
I think the first lines read "Thank you Mario. Your journey has ended."
Indeed, really, as this was the last Mario Land game ever made to focus on him.
