0Part Synopsis: In the throne room, Mario and Mallow confront the first major minion of Smithy. A bladed being named Claymorton challenges them. Along with some Shymores, they're all beaten without much difficulty. A star piece is found here, one of seven. The Chancellor is unharmed. At the store, Mallow exchanges the coin for a Cricket Pie.
The two continue to Kero Sewers. The water is drained, allowing more exploration. Some grinding is done off camera. A boss awaits in the final room and gets defeated. This causes the entire area to be flooded. Mario navigates Midas River, having been thrown into it.
Reaching Tadpole Pond, a conversation with Mallow's grandfather figure reveals they're actually not related and was found by him supposedly abandoned. Handing over the Cricket Pie, Mallow stays with Mario to find his real family. A minigame is done here that awards a membership card for the Juice Bar.
Playthrough Information: This is my first time experiencing the remake. I have already played the original Super Mario RPG on original SNES hardware and replayed the version featured on the SNES Mini for the channel as a let's play. I wanted to go through the remake for entertainment purposes. So I'm not referring to this as blind, since I'll be entirely familiar with the story and features of the original.
Anything new for this edition will be unknown to me. I will be playing on Normal difficulty. Any extra additions to the remake will be looked into such as the Boss Rush mode. Other side activities are also open to being covered, although certain specific things may be overlooked for any possible reason. All videos will include commentary and webcam usage, filmed in 1080p. About Game: Super Mario RPG is a Nintendo Switch remake of the 1996 Super Nintendo Entertainment System game Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars released worldwide on November 17, 2023. First announced during the June 2023 Nintendo Direct, this remake reimagines the original game in full 3D graphics, mostly maintaining the original characters' designs and proportions. The game's soundtrack has also been rearranged with new orchestration by the original game's composer, Yoko Shimomura. It was developed by ArtePiazza, a studio associated with Square Enix and known for their work on remaking entries in the Dragon Quest series.
