After trying this a million times I kinda now understand how some of the CPU act. Link will always start with throwing a boomerang so you can just grab him after that and go from there. The most important one tho is metal mario, where if you shield in the right side of the screen he will eventually fall down without you really having to do anything, it will sometimes work instantly or after 2 minutes but it will work. The only real problem of this are the Porygons and giant DK which I have to figure out how to kill fast, just gotta practice that.
