I'm pretty sure that Sonic's white alt color is based on Silver, though his gloves' bracelets look more like Tails' gloves from the bottom, and I could mostly see Silver's gloves being referenced through Sonic's yellow alt, where he has golden bracelets.

Psychic gloves or not, it's really satisfying to be able to have Sonic fight Mewtwo no matter what shade of blue he is.

As a big fan of voice acting, and knowing about the two big switches that the Sonic series has made across 3 different sets of (English!) voice actors, there's a teeny, weeny oversight that I noticed for Sonic's voice in this match. But first, some context.

In case you didn't already know, Roger Craig Smith is the current English voice actor for Sonic, having replaced Jason Griffith, who he himself replaced Ryan Drummond. Griffith voiced Sonic in Brawl, and Smith voices him here in Smash 4.

HOWEVER, although all of Sonic's voice clips were switched to Smith's, only one of Griffith's clips has remained on Sonic in the game. In a rather twisted irony, the clip that remained is when Sonic gasps for air after swimming (?!?!?!) up from deep water.

Have a listen for yourself at 0:53, 3:17, 3:20, and 3:25. Either they forgot to use an equivalent from Smith's clips, or they ignored it and thought that no one could tell the difference.

As soon as I found this out before, I couldn't unhear it, but it's really minor and extremely easy to miss. There are now three stages in the Wii U version that lets all of the characters swim (Delfino Plaza, Wuhu Island, and the DLC stage, Pirate Ship) and both of those stages are constantly moving to different locations at that, so swimming is even more limited from there. Pirate Ship seems to be the most reliable out of the three for swimming, but even that stage keeps you on your toes in the water.

Plus, swimming doesn't exist at all in the 3DS version, not even in Melee's Jungle Japes for that version, despite Brawl allowing it. But then again, all of Melee doesn't have it, either.

This is my last video of the 1.0.7 patch of this game. Rest assured that some of my videos from this point on will contain the DLC Trio of Lucas, Roy, & Ryu here and there!
