Not 3 days until the last character is added to the roster do we have another Event Tourney, which means said last character will likely need to wait for another 11 days before getting to participate in another Event Tourney. (As the roster will finally be complete by then, I am predicting an Event Tourney themed on characters, stages, and items introduced in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.) Instead, we get one themed on Blast Boxes.

All characters and stages are allowed, and as per standard for Event Tourneys, matches are Time at 2 minutes 30 seconds, and FS Meter is on. The main thing different about this is that only two items are on: the Smash Ball and the Blast Box, and both are on High. That means every match will have explosive crates piling up.

I'm sure you're familiar with Blast Boxes by now, but if you aren't, this is an item introduced in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. (Explosive crates have been around since the original Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo 64, but Brawl was the first time they were made to look different. Marked with an image of a black flame on a yellow background with "DANGER" written on it, Blast Boxes explode once attacked enough or is struck by a fire attack regardless of how much HP it has left. A lot of this cast can use fire moves and can thus exploit the Blast Boxes to KO people.

However, if someone is KOed by a Blast Box, credit is given to whoever last damaged them before the Blast Box, if any, not the person who ignited the Blast Box. This was something I had to keep in mind playing this one.

Match #1
Great Plateau Tower
Time (2 Minutes 30 Seconds)
I AM PLAYER 1 (Ludwig)
Opponents:
Player 2: Era_29S (Corrin)
Player 3: Joseisking (Mii Brawler)
Player 4: nugger (Hero) (Eight)
Music: "Kass's Song"
One of Bowser Jr.'s moves, and by extension all of the Koopalings, that can instantly ignite a Blast Box is the Mechakoopa. If it ever detonates close enough to a Blast Box, it will go off. Since there are so many in this event, I could just recklessly deploy them and eventually get some people in this way.

Match #2
Flat Zone X
Time (2 Minutes 30 Seconds)
I AM PLAYER 1 (Diddy)
Opponents:
Player 2: grade A (Lucario)
Player 3: Matt (Mega Man)
Player 4: Mr.Pancake (Wii Fit Trainer)
Music: "Flat Zone 2"
One thing I hadn't expected about this event is how quickly fortunes can turn into ruin. This is especially true on a stage with small space and a short distance between going offscreen and getting KOed. It was interesting to see the Game & Watch hazards and characters interact with the Blast Boxes though.

Match #3
Onett
Time (2 Minutes 30 Seconds)
I AM PLAYER 1 (Marth)
Opponents:
Player 2: SupaFly8D (Mii Brawler)
Music: "Snowman"
You could probably tell from the fact that this is a 1-on-1 match that it's actually a Finals, not Round 1 (or theoretically Round 2). Seems SupaFly8D plays either very cautiously or in a highly counterattack style. I guess I did have an advantage in knowing which cars to dodge though, whereas SupaFly8D seems to struggle with that.

Match #4
PAC-LAND
Time (2 Minutes 30 Seconds)
I AM PLAYER 1 (Captain Falcon)
Opponents:
Player 2: Bruceduce (Lucas)
Player 3: bimbolin (Young Link)
Player 4: zero (Sonic)
Music: "PAC-MAN'S PARK / BLOCK TOWN"
I can't really say I did much in this one, just riding on the points gained when people inadvertently set off a Blast Box. Best to stay away from them if you don't have projectiles, I noticed.
