Super Street Fighter II, 1993 Capcom (20 From '93 Part 6)
8Sequel to STREET FIGHTER II in which 4 new fighters are added (for a whopping total of 16 selectable characters!), and special bonuses are now awarded for 1) first attack, 2) shaking off a dizzy, and 3) a double hit on the opponent. The special bonuses would become commonplace in later vs. fighting games. The new fighters are: Fei Long, a Bruce Lee-type martial artist from Hong Kong; T. Hawk, a very tall Native American Indian from Mexico; Dee Jay, a fighter from Jamaica; and last but DEFINITELY not least, the super-sexy British special forces agent Cammy! Other than that.. the game is a bit too similar to Street Fighter II (though this has noticeably better graphics). The endings and stages for the older characters are THE SAME. Hell, the bonus stages are THE SAME as the original ones! Come on, Capcom.. a little variety? The Chun-Li fireballs and Dhalsim teleportation from Street Fighter II Turbo make a return here, but the variety is still sorely lacking in some places. Nevertheless, this is a good sequel. And Cammy's sex appeal was off the charts and she proved to be one of the more popular SF characters in the franchise. She's certainly MY favorite character!
