Good run 'n gun/shooting game in 3D based more on the animated series of the 80s than the comic book. Select up to 4 GI Joes (Duke, Scarlett, Snake Eyes and Roadblock) and mow down some scummy Cobra terrorists! In each scenario you run towards a destination where a boss battle will take place (you automatically run, so just move left or right and press up or down with the crosshairs and press the fire or rocket launcher button (the latter of which has limited use). Just about anything can be blown to bits, and you'll want to try to do so-- you never know what will grant you power-up icons. These are but three: a rocket launcher, rapid-fire (signified by an R; that isn't the rocket launcher icon), and the very rare health-up icon. The bosses you face are Tomax and Xamot (Corsican twins), Metal-Head (Anti-tank specialist), The Baroness (2nd in command), Major Bludd (mercenary), Destro (Weapons supplier), and Cobra Commander himself. I really wish Chris Latta's voice was utilized in this game-- he was a fantastic voice for Cobra Commander in the cartoon series, as well as Starscream in the Transformers series. For 1992 the 3D graphics are fairly well-used and the scenarios include a jungle, battle platform, hangar, chemical plant, etc. Save all your missiles, if you can, for the bosses-- they can be pretty tough. Track down this game if you can (likely through an emulator) and give it a go. Yo Joe!
