This is the sixth and (probably) final ST2 video in my new Arcade Superplay series - Super Street Fighter II X: Grand Master Challenge. Known outside Japan as Super Street Fighter II "Turbo," this is technically the "final" version of ST2, which introduced the Super Combo System that pretty much revolutionized not just Street Fighter, but fighting games in general. Along with completely new moves, this version also saw the debut of The Master of the Fist himself, Gouki (known as Akuma outside Japan).

With most of the moves and the AI itself fixed, challenging this game at the highest difficulty is much, MUCH easier compared to the previous "Super" version. Gouki, contrary to popular claims, is very easy to deal with, as long as you study his attack patterns. I used Chun Li for this playthrough to make it a bit of a challenge, as playing with Ryu or Ken just makes the game too easy.

As usual, no losses, no continues, no cheats, no tool assists, no excuses. This is a 1-credit-clear (1CC) playthrough on the CPS-2 board's Level 8 (Hardest) setting and includes the special end credits you get for beating the game without losing a round - you can now see all the character ending portraits plus the group pose.

I'll probably play Hyper ST2 some other time. Next would most likely be the Zero ("Alpha") series.

Enjoy watching!
