Do you like retro gaming? Do you like horror movies? Do you like RPG's? Then ohhhhh boy, is this the game for you. If you also happen to like movie games, you'll be glad to know that Sweet Home is one of those too, being based off a 1989 Japanese film; but unlike it's rainbow labeled NES brethren this game is horrifying for ya know, good reasons. The spiritual precursor to Resident Evil, Sweet Home is one of the best games I've discovered in recent years and is a Japan-exclusive that's actually worth hunting down because nothing else on the U.S. NES compares to it. The soundtrack is also one of the best minimalistic scores on the system, with loops that are short but big on atmosphere. I've heard a couple orchestral renditions of this track when you first enter the mansion, but I really wanted to do my own where the basses do most of the talking; really conveying a sense of utter dread.
